IoT Inspire Zürich 2022: Hawle Amaturen with Key-note on Smart Water Management Solutions
IOT INSPIRE ZURICH 2022, THE INTERNATIONAL EVENT DEDICATED TO INDUSTRY TRANSFORMATION THROUGH DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES, WILL BE AN IN-PERSON EVENT IN ZURICH WITH EXPECTED NUMBER OF 250 VISITORS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN JUNE 09, 2022. HAWLE AMATUREN, THE PLATIN SPONSOR OF THE EVENT WILL HAVE THE KEY-NOTE ON SMART WATER MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS BASED ON LORAWAN AND NB-IOT COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES.
Zurich, Switzerland (April 08, 2022): IoT Business Hub expects a record-breaking number of sponsors/partners and visitors for the event IoT Inspire Zurich 2022 despite the fact that the show will be organized for the first time in Zurich, Switzerland – a global center for banking and finance. The event will focus on the internet of sustainable things. IoT Inspire 2021 was already a success last year in Chur, Grisons. This year, IoT Inspire will focus together with its Platin Sponsor of the event and member of the IoT Business Hub, Hawle Amaturen, on smart water management solutions. A key-note presentation given by Saim Arslan, Head of Innovation at Hawle Amaturen will insight the key challenges and opportunities using IoT in todays water management systems.
Water is a precious resource on our planet and only about 3% of the world’s water is fresh water and 2/3 of that is not available for our use since they are tucked in frozen glaciers. Water scarcity is one of the leading challenges of the twenty first century and it is expected to intensify in the near future as a result of climate change and the impacts of the on-going growing population. According to the United Nation’s (UN) Population Division, the world population was 7.8 billion in 2020. The level will be at 9.7 billion in 2050 and 10.8 billion in 2100. In less than 30 years, the population will grow by almost 25% and expects an equivalent growth in agriculture land usage and water consumption. The global growth of food demand is placing unprecedented pressure on the land and water resources of our planet.
Currently, about 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water and according to WWF, a total of 2.7 billion people find water scarce for at least on month of the year. Many of the water systems have become stressed, drying up or becoming too polluted to use. Climate change is not improving the shortages and droughts of water around the world.
Agriculture consumes more water than any other source and wastes much of that through inefficiencies. According to UN, about 72% of all water withdrawals are used by agriculture, 16% by municipalities and services, and 12% by the industry. The biggest potential to improve the efficiency in water usage can be expected in agriculture. In particular, novel technologies in combination with IoT can be used to improve the efficiency in water consumption and make water usage more sustainable.
In particular, IoT solutions for management of water can include:
– Leakage detection
– Water quality monitoring
– Monitoring of water consumption
– Efficient and data-driven water management
– Predictive maintenance of water infrastructure
Real-time water consumption measuring and monitoring help to identify areas of excessive usage and wastage.
The solutions presented by Hawle Amaturen at IoT Inspire Zurich 2022 have a big impact on sustainable water management. With an overall number of participants, IoT Inspire Zurich 2022 expects about 250 visitors this summer despite Covid19 and welcomes C-Level executives from the technology ecosystem around the globe.
About IoT Inspire Zurich
IoT Inspire Zurich structures its program around four trending themes: Internet-of-Things, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Realiy, and Sustainability. The conference will focus on scalable use cases and provides clear examples of how disruptive technologies are changing businesses and transforming industries to become more efficient and sustainable. Also, academia partners will participate and exhibit at the “Research Park” during IoT Inspire Zurich. The Research Park invites research partners to exhibit their novel technologies at the event. Next to the participants from the industry, the association expects also visitors to be undergraduate and doctoral students.
About IoT Business Hub
The Association “IoT Business Hub” has a strong commitment to bring together partners from research, business and society based on disrupting innovation in trending technologies such as IoT and AI. Components from various even competing providers shall collaborate within the hub to create scale and lower the complexity of the underlying technologies that have the potential to allow a considerable effort in sustainability in our daily life. Bridging the gap between Switzerland’s well-established ecosystem in the application fields and emerging technologies and the rest of the world promise to reap a large return on investment for companies within the technology ecosystem. IoT Business Hub is the organizer of the IoT Inspire Zurich that connects its members and partners and facilitates collaboration.
